Munny, Munny, Munny...

Office Zombies Munnys - custom Kidrobot Munnys taking over the desktop, then making a coffee and calling IT because the computer won't boot up.

Much fun was had putting these two four inch mini Munny colleagues together, office zombies style. Nice bit of base coat spray painting and then acrylic and brush work to add the detail. More may follow!
The kids love them too, though I'm not sure what the teacher thought when this pic was taken to school!

Office Zombies vs Shark

Office zombie vs shark! What?! We are of course referring to the Zombie flick classic - 'Zombie Flesh Eaters' also confusingly known as 'Zombi 2', or… um, 'Zombi'… Nice and simple, see, like the naming conventions used for the Rambo films.

Being some sort of quasi sequel to Dawn of the Dead, it's a visceral slice of visceral cinema by shock Italian film maker Lucio Fulci. His films are so weird and unnerving, but at the same time so odd that you have to keep on watching, eyes transfixed to the screen. The way he shoots the scenes, and the eerie score by Fabio Frizzi which stays in your head long after viewing the film, all add to the general weirdness. Also, the use of part English and part Italian speaking actors means that dubbing is used in the relevant places. This adds an eclectic edge to the sound design, and leads you to never quite trust any character whose voice never quite matches their 'look'. So, that's the titling, sound design and the look of Fulci's work all adds to the mix to make us freak out on every level.

Then there is the boat scene with the infamous Zombie vs Shark. The origin for this surely must have come from some drunken conversation where someone knew a shark trainer or something. A zombie in the sea, a topless girl and a shark - pitch that! Well, OK I guess these days we have Tornado + shark = Sharknado, I suppose. Is this the films very own way of jumping the shark?

Fulci's other works such as 'City of the Living Dead', 'The Beyond' and a personal favourite - the bizarre 'House by the Cemetery' (check out the dubbing on that one. The kid is the strangest!) contain the same off beat traits. Odd incoherent story lines, synth spook music and gore by the plenty. Love it. Honestly, sometimes I have not a clue what is going on in Fulci's films, but I like it. Beats work.

The need for these films characters to keep sticking sharp implements into their eye balls is, however, just unpleasant.

Office Zombies - Top Of The Roof

Johnny Admin returns to YouTube in order to hide from his boss at the top of the roof.
A video for anyone who just wants to get away from it all, those who want to find that special quiet place to sit the working day out, or perhaps have a sing along with other colleagues. Is it nearly time to go home?

Top of the roof! That's where I go!

The magic of the movies! Day of the Dead (or Day at the Desk)

Another classic from Romero. I just love the first few minutes of this film. The opening scene is just fantastic. 80's pulsing synth music never sounded so good (So good in fact that Gorrilaz sampled it for the track A1-M1 on their debut album Video here).

That first shot of the zombie you see is fantastic! At first a stumbling shadow, then a blood dripping, jaw dropping (literally) visceral menace makes it's way forward. All done with traditional prosthetic visual effects. More zombies shuffling out of the doorways as they hear the cries of "Hello! Is anyone there?" is so creepy and effective.

The first five minutes are, for us, the highlight of the film and set an eerie tone, all filmed in broad daylight too. It's a shame that was about the best the film got, although production troubles - budgets and artistic vision -  marred the making of this film.

A remake? We've already had one and it was terrible, not to mention any weird semi prequels(!)… so, no thanks, let's keep it to the 80's. As for us Office Zombies, we already have a remake every week day - so, it's back to another Day at the Desk…

The magic of the movies! Dawn of the Day Job

Here's a little homage to probably our favourite Zombie movie ever - Dawn of the Dead.
An absolute Romero classic, full of inspiration, even featuring the Hare Krishna zombie!

Something in this film strikes a chord with us. The undead returning to the shopping mall and going about their daily business (while looking for brains), the quest for survival and the helicopter head-chop scene are just brilliant. Dawn of the Day Job - you need your coffee to survive work.

Happy Office Zombies Day 2012!

Well, it's back to work for another new year after all the festive fun, and the first day back is always the hardest.
Happy Office Zombies Day 2012! Time sure does go slow when you're in Work!

zombie racism.

In a politically correct, world gone mad! You can't even zombie up and get wrecked in your SU anymore. That whacky Physics society should of had at least one blue krishna zombie and they would of caused a world wide outrage.

so blue

Leaving for dead.

Here's a nice song from left for dead 2

'Re: Your Brains'

If you don't know the left for dead games they are an action packed, fight for survival set of online games that manages to actually make running zombies cool. There is no plot, just run and shoot like hell with 4 well written characters who are trying to escape the city in one piece, watch this trailer for a good taste (of brains). It's certainly been making us lose some sleep.

THE WALKING DEAD

The guy from teachers... is the main character in the new walking dead series, strange choice but we kind of like it! If you don't read walking dead (the comic it is based on), it's OK, but go get it right now. The comic explores the zombie apocalypse and the psychological effects of what happens when you hack walking corpses in the head on a daily bases. Writer Robert Kirkman promises to just keep on going with the story so this series should be something real special, make sure you watch it.
